Poem: Anemone
A Botanical Poem
I flourish where tears stain the earth,
Born from love’s perennial gaze.
Petals bowed, silent evensong;
To love forsaken, hearts undone.
My lover sleeps beneath the jealous soil,
Stolen by gods who envied love’s embrace.
His midsummer laugh echoes o’er the hills,
Forever blossoming in divine grief.
Beside me, Camellia unfurls,
Layers of longing and might-have-be…
